Although interested in art, Norman was not able to dedicate alot of his tine to art as a real hobby but was only to 'dabble' from time to time. His family will recall with fondness some of his early art, being the murals on bathroom and bedroom walls, his air brush customisations on vehicles of family and friends and his first oil paintings and homemade canvasses.
One of Norman's favorite artists is, the now well known Bob Ross, who he learnt some of his painting techniques from watching home recorded videos over the years from the television before SKY was even invented! Sadly, following the death of his wife Sheila in 2002 and with his two grown sons with partners and families of their own. Norman found that he had the time to finally put aside to take up that long awaited interest.
Norman would never admit at being a proper artist in the way he classes a 'proper' artist to be, rather than he is someone who enjoys to paint.
As a member of Charlton Marshall Art Society, Norman regularly exhibits his art in a quaint coffee shop in Blandford and also exhibits from time to time in local community centres, in Blandford and at Pamphill, Wimborne.
